FAQ

Questions, answered.

What does the meta tag checker look at?

The title and meta description (length in characters and an estimate in pixels), canonical, robots meta and X-Robots-Tag, the H1, Open Graph and X (Twitter) card tags, language, viewport, favicon and hreflang.

How long should a title be?

Google cuts titles at about 600 pixels, roughly 55 to 60 characters. Put the words that matter first.

How long should a meta description be?

About 120 to 160 characters. Google may rewrite it, and AI tools often read it as the page's summary, so make it a plain, true sentence.

Why is my share image missing?

LinkedIn, X and chat apps read og:image. Without it they show a bare link. Use an absolute https address and an image of about 1200×630 pixels.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Results are kept for 7 days; use “Check again” after you change the page.

Does it check every page of my site?

One page at a time, here. The AY Rank app checks your key pages and tracks how AI engines describe and cite them.
